Acantha Lang ‘Beautiful Dreams’ Album Launch

4th May 2023 /Posted byRobert Cope / 1896 / 0

Acantha Lang, the rising star of modern soul music, performed at The Forge in Camden Town tonight, and what a show it was. The singer-songwriter had already made a name for herself with her single releases, and her debut album ‘Beautiful Dreams’ has been much anticipated. But last night’s performance confirmed that Acantha Lang is not just an artist to watch but one to cherish.

The stage was set from the very first song, beautifully performed, which immediately transported the audience into Acantha’s world of dreams and aspirations. She began with “Ride This Train,” the opening track of her album and one of her most celebrated songs. The Memphis vibe that runs through the song was enhanced by the hot rhythm section and full-bodied horns, and Acantha’s rich vocals led us through the musical tale of a woman who is ready to take the step to follow her dreams and “ride this train all the way to the end.” The song speaks of Acantha’s own journey from New Orleans to Harlem, where she began her career ascent, and the audience could feel the emotions behind the lyrics.

Acantha’s set was a mixture of her original songs and covers of soul classics. Her exceptional take on “What’s Going On” by Marvin Gaye was a standout, with her vocals being compared to the venerable vocal flutter of Aretha Franklin. Her voice is a mesmerising, full-bodied instrument that has evolved into something unique and unforgettable.

Acantha’s band was outstanding, and they complemented her voice perfectly. The cool opening keyboards, the hot rhythm section, and the full-bodied horns created a rich sound that had the audience tapping their feet and swaying to the music. The chemistry between Acantha and her band was palpable, and it was clear that they were having as much fun performing as the audience was listening.

The venue, The Forge, was the perfect setting for Acantha’s performance. The intimate atmosphere allowed for a personal connection between the artist and the audience. Acantha engaged with the audience between songs, telling stories of her musical journey and inspirations.

In conclusion, Acantha Lang’s performance at The Forge in Camden Town was a triumph. Her vocals were stunning, her band was outstanding, and the venue was the perfect setting. Acantha Lang is an artist to cherish, and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for her. I fully recommend fans of soulful music go out and buy her debut album.

Summary

Tonight’s debut album launch by Acantha Lang, the rising star of modern soul music hailing from New Orleans and now based in London, was a true testament to her immense talent. Acantha Lang’s soulful voice and memorable, musically rich songs were on full display, making her the perfect introduction to the next big thing in soul music. With her exceptional skills, it’s clear that the music industry has a new shining star in the making.
