Film – 65 (2023)

18th March 2023 /Posted byRobert Cope / 1887 / 0

The film “65” takes us on an exciting journey through time to Earth’s past, 65 million years ago. The premise of the film, where a pilot and a young girl must make their way through dangerous prehistoric creatures to find rescue, is a thrilling one that keeps the audience on the edge of their seats.

Despite the lack of character development, the film makes up for it with its action-packed sequences and stunning CGI visuals. The film’s budget is evident in its impressive special effects, which bring the prehistoric creatures to life in a realistic and believable way.
The film does not spend much time delving into the backstories of its characters or exploring their motivations. Instead, the focus is on the action and survival aspects of the story.

While this may be disappointing for some viewers who prefer more in-depth character development, it does not detract significantly from the film’s overall entertainment value. The chemistry between Mills and Koa is still palpable, and the audience can empathise with their plight despite not knowing much about their backgrounds.

Adam Driver’s performance as the protagonist Mills is commendable, as he portrays a caring father and an astronaut stranded in an unknown world. His chemistry with Ariana Greenblatt, who plays Koa, is heartwarming as they make their way through the dangerous terrain. In the end, “65” may not be a character-driven film, but it still manages to deliver a thrilling ride through time with its action-packed sequences and stunning visuals.

While the film could have been more imaginative and exciting with its premise, it still manages to entertain with its formulaic survival story. The fabricated versions of the dinosaurs might not be entirely accurate, but they do serve their purpose in creating thrilling set pieces.

Overall, “65” is a passable but enjoyable sci-fi action movie that would appeal to fans of the genre. It may not be a groundbreaking film, but it still manages to deliver an entertaining experience with its thrilling action and captivating visuals.
