Parasite (2019)

11th August 2019 /Posted byRobert Cope / 3578 / 0

For fans of foreign film, in particular, Korean TV/movies, ‘Parasite (2019)’ s most certainly worth the watch. I saw it last night. I’m a massive fan of the talented Kang-ho Song and co-star, Yeo-jeong Jo, so great to see them both in this. It’s the first Korean film to win the Palme d’Or at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

The movie unexpectedly changes genres from a light-hearted caper to something more disturbing and gruesome halfway through the film. It follows a family struggling to make ends meet, who hatch a plan to all get employment from a naive but rich family. The plot, later on, takes a sinister twist. Worth the 8.6 on IMDB I’d say. Great bit of cinematography here.

My advice is… don’t read the in-depth reviews, as they all tend to give too much away, just go in head-first blind into this one.
