Pascol
Pascol returns to London on Saturday 15 November at 5pm, joining the Voila! Theatre Festival at Theatro Technis, Camden. It is a work shaped by the audience. Personal memories are shared aloud by those who choose to take part, often quietly; the ensemble listens, responds, and folds each story into a live vocal composition. The result feels both intimate and communal, a sound built in the moment, to be heard only once.
Six performers invite those in the room to offer a short memory or feeling. They listen closely, then shape what they hear into improvised musical composition using only the human voice. No instruments. No script. Everything is created in real time.
The atmosphere is quiet and attentive. Sometimes a single memory grows into layered harmony. Sometimes the performers move together, responding physically as well as vocally. Because the material comes directly from the room, each performance takes a different shape, and the music that emerges is unique to that moment. No two evenings are the same.
There is no guarantee where the evening will go. Each gathering finds its own path, carried by the people in the room. A story offered becomes a point of connection; a memory takes on colour and tone; voices rise and fall until something new forms in the air, brief, communal, and unrepeatable.
The event is led by musician and composer Sasha Gefen, joined by an ensemble of six vocalists. They build sound from breath, tone, and simple movement, creating a performance that feels both personal and shared.
Pascol is part of the Voila! Theatre Festival, which brings together artists working across languages, disciplines, and cultural starting points. Theatro Technis is one of the festival’s longstanding partner venues. It has a history of giving space to independent voices and work that develops with care and curiosity. Pascol sits naturally among them. It asks little beyond a willingness to be present, and offers in return a shared act of listening and witnessing.
There is no guarantee where the evening will go. That is the quiet promise. Each gathering finds its own shape, carried by the people in the room. A story offered becomes a bridge; a memory takes on colour and tone; voices rise and fall until something new hangs in the air, brief, communal, and unrepeatable.
This appearance is a one-night performance only.

I left feeling lighter, wondering how many stories were in the heads of the people around me and how many different ways there are to communicate.
